DUSHANBE, April 23. 2009, Asia-Plus  — Finance Minister Safarali Najmiddinov met here yesterday with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Switzerland to Kazakhstan and Tajikistan, Mr. Stephan Nellen,

According to secretariat of the Ministry of Finance (MoF), state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Switzerland were a topic major of the meeting.  The two, in particular, exchanged views on impacts of the global financial countries on the national economies and measures taken to mitigate the crisis effects.

During the meeting, it was noted that Tajikistan and Switzerland were expected to sing a government-to-government agreement on protection of investment and avoidance of double taxation this year.  The sides noted that the agreement would promote attraction of the Swiss investments that would promote economic development of Tajikistan, the secretariat said.
