DUSHANBE, September 23, 2010, Asia-Plus  — President Emomali Rahmon, who is currently in New York to attend the UN General Assembly session, yesterday met with Mr. B. Lynn Pascoe is the Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations for Political Affairs, according to presidential press service.

In the course of the talks, the two discussed cooperation between Tajikistan and the United Nations.  Developments in Kyrgyzstan and Afghanistan and their possible negative impact on Tajikistan were a major topic of the meeting.

Rahmon and Pascoe also discussed ways to remove artificial obstacles on the way of development of regional cooperation in Central Asia.
