DUSHANBE, September 23, 2010, Asia-Plus – One of supporters of former opposition commander Mirzokhouja Ahmadov – the 26-year-old resident of Vose district in Khatlon province Halim Isoyev – was detained in a special operation that was carried out in Rasht district yesterday.

Halim Isoyev was shown on Tajik national TV yesterday evening.  He said he was detained in the village of Porvogh in Rasht district, where he was hiding in house of Sayriddin Azizov, also known as Hoji Sayriddin.  Halim said that he together with other eight youth had been taught basic Islam beliefs and how to carry out terrorist acts in a training camp that was located in the village of Porvogh.  In the camp, they called him Abubakr and did not let him go home during a year.  Halim Isoyev also noted that Mirzokhouja Ahmadov and Alovuddin Davlatov had provided them with food products.      

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against Halim Isoyev under the provisions of four articles of Tajikistan’s Penal Code and he faces charges of terrorism, organization of criminal group, and illegal storage of weapons.
