KHUJAND, July 22, 2010, Asia-Plus — In January-June 2010, open joint-stock company (OJSC), Eskhata Bank, has provided 145 million somoni in loans, which is 9.25 percent more than in the same period last year, Asia-Plus has learned at the bank’s headquarters in Khujand.
Loans provided for consumer needs have amounted to 5.55 million somoni, the source said. As of July 1, 2010, Eskhata Bank’s loan portfolio amounted to 193.1 million somoni.
Over the same six-month period, net profit of Eskhata bank has amounted to 3.32 million somoni. As of July 1, 2010, the banks assets exceeded 330.169 million somoni.
Over the report period, physical entities remitted more than 180 million U.S. dollars to Eskhata Bank, which is 36 percent more than in January-June 2010.
The volumes of time deposit accounts at Eskhata Bank rose 45 percent in the year to June 30, 2010, reaching 63 million somoni.
Established in November 1993, a privately owned Eskhata Bank, with headquarters in Khujand, has eight branches in various regions of the country, including Dushanbe, cites of Konibodom, Isfara, Chkalovsk, Istaravshan and Panjakent in Sughd province, as well as Qurghon Teppa, the capital of Khatlon province. In addition to branches, Eskhata Bank has also developed a network of more than 60 outlets and service points giving it good country-wide coverage. The bank got operating license in 1994.
