DUSHANBE, June 30, 2010, Asia-Plus  — A building of Dushanbe’s kindergarten # 99 that was house for the private gymnasium, Sarparast, will be handed over to lyceum for talented children # 2, according to the Dushanbe education directorate.

The Dushanbe education directorate head Shamsullo Islomov told Asia-Plus Tuesday afternoon that the lyceum will be under jurisdiction of the Dushanbe mayor’s office.  “Students from the private gymnasium, Sarparast, will be transferred to the lyceum and they will study at the lyceum free of charge,” said Islomov, “Earlier, their parents had had to pay up to US$900 per year for their studying at the private gymnasium.  Teachers that worked with the gymnasium will also not be left without jobs.”

The Sarparast principal Khayriddin Qosimov told Asia-Plus that the gymnasium had some 500 students.  “We are ready for handing over the school building,” said Qosimov, “The gymnasium activity has still been closed and the founder has not yet made any decisions on resumption of its work.”

We will recall that by its decision of June 22 the Dushanbe mayor’s office is returning the privatized and leased buildings of schools and preschool institutions to the national property.

106 preschool institutions now function in Dushanbe.
