KHUJAND, June 29, 2010, Asia-Plus  — The Chkalovsk jewelry plant, which is an affiliate of the State Unitary Enterprise Vostokredmet (Rare Metal Industrial Association), intends to produce gold bars for sale.

According to unofficial sources, the plant will begin to produce gold and silver bars weighing 20 grams and more in the near future.  The bars will be produced from gold and silver mined in northern Tajikistan, the source said.

In the meantime, the Vostokredmet administration refrained from commenting this information, saying that it was a secret production.
