DUSHANBE, February 27, 2010, Asia-Plus  — Presentation of a book entitled “Social Journalism” by Professor Ibrohim Usmonov has taken place in Khujand, the capital of the Sughd province.

Professor Usmonov told Asia-Plus that the book was based on workbooks by Moscow State University and the initiative had been supported by the Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) Tajikistan.

“I adapted the book to realities of Tajikistan, adding materials reflecting life of today’s Tajikistan,” said Usmonov, “The book about social journalism is the first manual of this kind within the CIS area.”

According to him, 500 copies of the book have been published to this day and they have been distributed to universities teaching journalism courses free of charge.
