DUSHANBE, February 16, 2010, Asia-Plus – Shodi Shabdolov, leader of the Communist Party (CPT) has pointed out severe weather conditions as big obstacles for the election campaign in remote mountain areas.
“Heavy snowfalls have blocked in several places roads to the mountain areas, and therefore, we have not been able to meet with voters in remote areas to acquaint them with out pre-election platform,” Shabdolov said.
Besides, he recently failed to attend a meeting of heads of political parties with voters in Khatlon’s Kulob zone because of bad weather conditions. “Despite the fact that representative of our party, Sharif Latifov, attended the meeting, the meeting organizers ignored his presence and did not give the floor to him,” Shabdolov said.
According to him, Latifov has filed a lawsuit against the meeting organizers in the Kulob city court. “Such action do not do local authorities any credit,” the CPT leader noted.
