DUSHANBE, February 13, 2010, Asia-Plus  — The International Monetary Fund (IMF) is understanding efforts of the Government of Tajikistan to build hydropower plants on its territory that will allow tackling many problem resulting from electricity shortages, Mr. Axel Schimmelpfennig, chief of the IMF mission to Tajikistan, told reporters on February 12 in Dushanbe after his meting with President Emomali Rahmon.

He also pointed to the necessity of training of highly skilled specialists for Tajikistan’s energy sector.
