DUSHANBE, February 10, 2010, Asia-Plus — The CIS Executive Committee, Russia’s Ministry of Economic Development and the Business Center for CIS Economic Development will hold the CIS economic forum in Moscow on March 5 this year.
According to the forum steering committee, the event formally titled “New Initiatives in the Year of Russia’s CIS Chairmanship” will bring together, heads of relevant government institutions, public associations as well as representatives of banks and leading business structures from the CIS member nations to discuss prospects of implementation of the CIS economic development strategy designed for the period till 2020 as well as ways of further strengthening of economic integration of the CIS states.
Since Russia assumed the rotating CIS chairmanship, this event will be devoted primarily to Russia’s new initiatives in the CIS framework.
In the CIS countries 2010 was declared the Year of Science and Innovation, and therefore the subject of scientific, technological and innovative collaboration will predominate in discussions at this forum.
