DUSHANBE, February 6, 2010, Asia-Plus  — Residential customers in Dushanbe have not had natural gas since February 3.

Alamkhon Ahmadov, director of the state unitary enterprise Dushanbegaz (Dushanbe natural-gas distributor), told Asia-Plus that gas supplies to residential customers had been cut off due to considerable arrears that residential customers now owe to Dushanbegaz.

“The public debts are accruing day by day and we do not have opportunity any more to provide residential customers with natural gas,” said Ahmadov, “Moreover, our tax debts have reached 2.7 million somoni to this day.”
