CCER approves budget of expenditure on supervising 2010 parliamentary elections

DUSHANBE, December 22, 2009, Asia-Plus  — The Central Committee for Elections and Referenda (CCER) approved the budget of expenditure on supervising next year’s parliamentary elections at a December 21 meeting, presided over by its head, Mirzoali Boltuyev.

The budget of expenditure needed for the commission to conduct its work in relation to the process amounts to 5.443 million somoni.

The commission also considered issues related to single form and size of information posters of candidates for parliament as well as set up a working group to ensure work of international observers.  “The commission decided that the posters of candidates should be produced in A-4 format,” the source said.

We will recall that elections to the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament) and local legislatures (Majlis) will take place on December 28, 2010.
