DUSHANBE, December 18, 2009, Asia-Plus  — A delegation of Russian ruling party, Yedinaya Rossiya (United Russia), will arrive in Tajikistan on December 25 for a three-day visit.

According to Yedinaya Rossiya’s website, a decision on sending the delegation to Tajikistan was adopted at a meeting of the Board of the General Council of the party.

The delegation members include Artur Chiligarov, the member of the Bureau of the Supreme Council of the party also deputy head of the Yedinaya Rossiya group within the State Duma (Russia’s lower chamber of parliament), Konstantin Kosachov, the deputy secretary of the Board of the General Council of the party for international policy and inter-party relations also head of the State Duma Committee for International Affair, and Konstantin Petrichenko, the head of the international cooperation department of the party’s central Committee Executive Committee.

We will recall that Usmon Soleh, the head of the agitation and propaganda department of the People’s Democratic Party of Tajikistan (PDPT), told Asia-Plus on December 15 that representatives of ruling parties from Russia (Yedinaya Rossiya), Kazakhstan (Nur Otan, meaning Fatherland’s Ray of Light), Kyrgyzstan (Ak Jol, meaning Genial Path), and Azerbaijan (Yeni Azerbaijan, meaning New Azerbaijan) have been invited to attend the PDPT congress that will take place on December 26.  According to him, the party will also celebrate its 15th anniversary the same day.
