The conference was dedicated to consider the results of five-month work of the registration system under the OSS principle in the country.

Ms. Adrian noted that to promote further fruitful cooperation in that direction the Government of Tajikistan and the European Union must work out a single vision.  She stressed that the European Union would continue helping Tajikistan reform its tax system in the future as well.  “Next year, we jointly with the Tax Committee of Tajikistan plan to launch a number of other projects to reform this sector,” Ms. Adrian added. Mr. Arthur Luca, manager of the European Union Project, Capacity building of the Business Registration Department of the Tax Committee of Tajikistan, to ensure its ability to sustain and develop further the One Stop Shop service for Business Registration, noted that over the first five months of implementation of the OSS principle in Tajikistan, some 20,000 local entrepreneurs have used the new registration system.  74 offices connected to the central register have been established and the period of registration process for Tajik entrepreneurs has been reduced from 45 to 5 working days and the number of registration procedures has been reduced from 13 to 3, the project manager said.
