On April 27, the last participant of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 (GPW of 1941-1945) from Hisor, Rajab Ismonov, passed away. He was 100 years old. Before that, there were 10 veterans left in the country.
As of today, the largest number of veterans of the GPW of 1941-1945 reside in the Khatlon province – Safarali Faizaliyev, Mashrab Davlatov, Gulmurod Taghoyev, Mirzo Ghafourov, Habib Safarov, and Yahyo Mirzoyev.
Two GPW veterans live in the Sughd province — Nozim Nosirov and Bibola Ruzimatov. Also, one GPW veteran remains in Dushanbe – Bozor Naghzibekov.
It is known that the oldest among them is Safarali Faizaliyev, born in 1923 (103 years old), and the youngest are Bozor Naghzibekov, Mirzo Ghafourov, Mashrab Davlatov, and Habib Safarov, born in 1926 (100 years old).

More than 300,000 residents of Tajikistan reportedly took part in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 and 92,000 of them died in battle. 55 of residents of Tajikistan were given the title of Hero of the Soviet Union. Besides, 15 other Tajikistan’s residents were Full Holders of the Order of Glory.
