DUSHANBE, December 1, 2009, Asia-Plus  — As of December 1, 2009, water levels at the reservoir powering the Norak hydroelectricity power plant (HPP) were at 901.8 meters above sea level, which is 12 higher than of same date of last year, Nozirjon Yodgori, a spokesman for Barqi Tojik (Tajik electric systems) power holding, said in an interview with Asia-Plus.

According to him, current rate of inflow of water into the Norak reservoir is some 209 cubic meter per second, while current outflow rate is some 521 cubic meters per second.

“The rate of daily use of water from the Norak reservoir now should not exceed 27 centimeters,” Yodgori noted, adding that Tajik power plants now generate some 45 million kWh of electricity per day.
