DUSHANBE, October 27, Asia-Plus — Today early in the morning, President Emomali Rahmon started a working visit to the Rasht Valley in eastern Tajikistan, according to presidential press service.
He has already visited the Langari Shoh area in the Tojikobod district, where he together with Chinese Ambassador and top managers of China’s company, China Road, attended an official opening of the bridge across the Surkhob River that links Rasht and Tojikobod districts.
A total cost of the project for construction of this bridge with capacity of 120 tons is 18 million somoni. 200 Tajik builders together with Chinese specialists participated in construction of the bridge and rehabilitation of a road 25 kilometers in length. The bridge has been built in the Tojikobod district the framework of the Dushanbe–Kyrgyz Border Road Rehabilitation Project, which is implemented under financial support of the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
We will recall that during his short working trip to the Rasht Valley, President Rahmon is scheduled to visit Tojikobod, Nourobod and Rasht districts and to attend ceremonies of official opening of a number of social facilities in the area.
Today, Rahmon will also attend an official opening of a 30-ton bridge across the Surkhob River near the village of Yangolik that has been built within the framework of the Rural Poverty Reduction Project in Tajikistan, which is sponsored by ADB’s Japan Fund for Poverty Reduction (JFPR)m the source said.
Besides, President Rahmon will inaugurate a new three-story school to accommodate 1,176 pupils in Darband, the administrative center of the Nourobod district, the source at the Ministry of Education (MoE) said. The school has been built due to funds allocated from the local budget.
During his stay in Darband, Rahmon will also attend an official opening of a new three-story building for the central district hospital with 100 beds, according to the Ministry of Health (MoH). 7 million somoni have been provided from the national budget for construction of the hospital building.
