KHUJAND, October 14, 2009, Asia-Plus  — Limited liability company Spitamentextiles (enterprise for deep processing of cotton fiber) in Sughd’s Spitamen district is expected to launch its first product in early November.

The enterprise director Mirzoqodir Baqoyev says they are currently completing installation of Italian equipment (spinning line) at the enterprise.  “Current enterprise capacity is 3,000 tons of fiber per year and some 400 people work with Spitamentextiles that will produce cotton yarn,” the director said.

According to him, the second phase of construction of the factory will start next year.  The second phase includes construction of workshops, installation of equipment for further processing of cotton fiber into manufactured goods.  The enterprise capacity will be increased three times.

Baqoyev noted that construction of the factory was financed by local company, Gulisotn.
