DUSHANBE, February 2, 2009, Asia-Plus — News-established Information and Analysis Center, Press-Panorama, hosted a seminar formally titled “The Truth about War and Peace in Middle East” on January 31.
Speaking at the seminar, political scientist Abdullo Hakim Rahnamo noted that there were no yet the prospects of solution to crisis in that region.
“The “New Middle East” project, initiated by the United States in June 2006, within the frames of which “stabilization of the region” has been considered, has remained unsolved,” said Rahnamo, “An attitude of new administration of the United States towards the problem will scarcely change; it will remain the same – within the framework of the US foreign policy.”
In the meantime, the anti-American organizations of the region such as Lebanese Hezbollah and Palestinian Hamas have strengthened their positions and have become known globally, the political scientist said.
According to article Plans for Redrawing the Middle East: The Project for a “New Middle East” by Mahdi Darius Nazemroaya, posted on website Global Researches.ca on November 18, 2006, the term “New Middle East” was introduced to the world in June 2006 in Tel Aviv by U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice (who was credited by the Western media for coining the term) in replacement of the older and more imposing term, the “Greater Middle East.” “…The “New Middle East” project was introduced publicly by Washington and Tel Aviv with the expectation that Lebanon would be the pressure point for realigning the whole Middle East and thereby unleashing the forces of “constructive chaos.” This “constructive chaos” –which generates conditions of violence and warfare throughout the region– would in turn be used so that the United States, Britain, and Israel could redraw the map of the Middle East in accordance with their geo-strategic needs and objectives.”
Known Tajik cleric and member of the Majlisi Milli (Tajikistan’s upper chamber of parliament), Hoji Akbar Turajonzoda, and deputy of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament) also leader of the Islamic Revival Party (IRPT) Muhiddin Kabiri, who also participated in the seminar, welcomed statement made by Turkey’s PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
We will recall that Erdogan on January 29 stormed out of a debate about Gaza at the Forum. He reacted when he was refused the chance to respond to Israeli President Shimon Peres” defense of the operation. During the debate, Mr. Erdogan had clashed with Mr. Peres, whose voice had risen as he made an impassioned defense of Israel”s actions.
“Mr. Erdogan showed the best example of solidarity with victims of Israel’s military actions in the Gaza Strip,” they said.
