DUSHANBE, September 2009, Asia-Plus — President Emomali Rahmon yesterday attended a ceremony of an official opening of a new private hospital with 105 beds in Dushanbe.
A nine-story hospital named after Anu Ali ibn Sina was constructed under financial support of Iranian and Tajik entrepreneurs and a total cost of the project is some 35 million somoni.
Iranian Ambassador to Tajikistan Ali-Asghar Sherdoust also attended the hospital-opening ceremony.
The hospital is provided with the state-of-the-art medical equipment for performing kidney and heart operations.
During the hospital-opening ceremony, it was noted that it was the only hospital of this kind in the Central Asian region and skilled physicians from Iran and Germany would work with it. In all, 250 specialists, with 70 percent of them being local medical personnel, will work with the hospital.
