DUSHANBE, April 30, 2011, Asia-Plus  — Kyrgyz security service says it has information that new clashes between the government forces and militants are possible in Tajikistan this year.

Kyrgyz news agency, AKIpress says that in a report released at a meeting of Zhokorgy Kenesh (Kyrgyzstan’s parliament), the Kyrgyz National Security Agency chief Keneshbek Dushebayev revealed on April 29 that they have reason to suppose that there will be clashes between the government forces and militants in Tajikistan this year.

He reminded that two clashes between the Tajik security forces and militants took place last November.

We will recall that Tajik government forces began a counterterrorism operation in eastern Tajikistan on September 22, 2010, following the September 19 attack on Tajik army forces in Kamarob Gorge in Rasht district, in which at least 28 servicemen were killed and more than 10 others wounded.  Authorities said that Abdullo Rahimov, widely known as Mullon Abdullo, and Alovuddin Davlatov (Ali Bedaki) were behind the September 19 attack.

The law enforcement authorities reported on January 4 that one of the suspected attackers Alovuddin Davlatov and his seven confederates have been killed in a special operation in Rasht district.

On April 14, Tajik security forces launched a search operation for Mullo Abdullo.  Tajik law enforcement authorities noted the operation to hunt down Abdullo Rahimov and his followers was over on Aril 16.  Mullo Abdullo was killed on April 15 along with 15 militants in the village of Samsoliq, Nourobod district, about 135 kilometers east of Dushanbe.
