DUSHANBE, May 31, 2011, Asia-Plus  – Tajikistan’s Consul General in Yekaterinburg, Russia’s Sverdlovsk oblast, Parviz Aliyev, on May 30 met with Sverdlovsk Governor Alexander Misharin, the Tajik MFA information department reports.

The two reportedly exchanged views on state and prospects expansion of economic cooperation between Tajikistan and Russia’s Sverdlovsk oblast.

Alexander Misharin invited Tajikistan to attend International Ural Exhibition that will take pace in Yekaterinburg from July 14-17.  The Forum of Industry and Innovations will be held on sidelines of the exhibition.

The exhibition is reportedly aimed at presenting advanced technologies developed in Russia, which are ready to be used in industry, and facilitating the spreading of the best innovation practices and developing business connections between industrial enterprises and technology developers.  The main difference of the exhibition from similar events is that there will be no place for the innovation ideas and projects that are not supported by business-plans.

During the meeting, Sverdlovsk governor expressed satisfaction with activities of the JV “AMUR-Khujand-ZIL” and stressed that trade between Sverdlovsk region and Tajikistan last year valued at 21.4 million U.S. dollars, the source said.

Tajik diplomat, for his part, expressed gratitude to Misharin for his personal contribution to expansion of social and economic cooperation between Tajikistan and the Russian Federation.
