The workshop that is being conducted within framework of the project, Regulating Labor Migration as an Instrument of Development and Regional Cooperation in Central Asia – Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, is dedicated to optimize the process of formation of an efficient system for management of labor migration processes, the source at the International Labor Organization (ILO) Project Office in Tajikistan said.

According to him, this expert consultative event is being held under the aegis of the ILO and Tajikistan’s Migration Service in cooperation with the relevant government bodies and social partners as well as public associations and academic circles from the Central Asian region.

“The main objective of this regional dialogue is in deeply studying and discussing problems regarding formation of an adequate system for collection and exchange of migration data as well as in developing practical recommendations on optimization of this sphere,” the source said.

The workshop participants are also discussing opportunities of development of a single concerted approach to improvement of the system for collection and exchange of appropriate migration data in Central Asia on the basis of generally recognized international ILO standards and best practice.

The project, Regulating Labor Migration as an Instrument of Development and Regional Cooperation in Central Asia – Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, is being implemented under financial support of the European Union.
