DUSHANBE, July 15, 2011, Asia-Plus – The Ministry of Energy and Industries (MoEI) has donated more than 5,000 books to the National Library of Tajikistan.

The source at a MoEI says Minister of Energy and Industries Gul Sherali handed over the books to the library on July 15.

The National Library of Tajikistan will be put in commission in early September on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Tajikistan’s Independence.  The country’s budget has reportedly allocated some 40 million U.S. dollars for construction of the library.

The library stock is expected to include 9 million books (scientific literature, political essays, textbooks, fiction and so forth).
