Abdunabi Sattorzoda, a former diplomat and Tajik scholar who once held the position of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, believes that the activities of the Asia-Plus Media Group assist the government in addressing pressing issues and shape a real perception of Tajikistan abroad.

Abdunabi Sattorzoda noted that Asia-Plus has managed to change the Tajik press landscape since its inception—from a small bulletin to becoming a major media group.

According to him, the main feature of this media outlet is that it raises pressing issues not only at the national level but also in the realm of international journalism.

The diplomat highlighted the key role of this media outlet in forming a positive image of Tajikistan on the world stage and emphasized that foreigners trust the reliable information provided by Asia-Plus.

He added that the activities of Asia-Plus are beneficial for the government as they allow responsible parties to timely recognize existing problems and find ways to solve them.

Sattorzoda urged the media to show more courage in covering internal issues and to involve experienced experts for in-depth analysis. In his opinion, Asia-Plus has the potential to play a historical role in cultivating national thinking, eliminating regionalism, and forming a fully-fledged nation.

The first Asia-Plus news-analytical bulletin was published on April 2, 1996. Its publication marked the beginning of the formation of the “Asia-Plus” media group.

Today, it comprises a weekly newspaper, radio, and a news agency, preparing and providing millions of its readers with quality and reliable content in three languages—Tajik, Russian, and English.
