VAHDAT, July 20, 211, Asia-Plus  — A court at the town of Vahdat, some 20 kilometers east of Dushanbe, has completed consideration of criminal cases instituted against two local women accused of buying and selling of minors, Nasrullo Karimov, a senior investigator with the Vahdat prosecutor’s office, said in an interview with Asia-Plus.

“The court considered criminal proceedings instituted against Moriya Bobiyeva, who sold her newborn baby to her neighbor for US$400.00 in September 2010 because of hard financial situation.  Bobiyeva received suspended eight-year prison term,” said Karimov, “The court also considered criminal proceedings instituted against Sarvinoz Qosimova, who is charged with selling her newborn daughter to the Azimmurodov couple in December 2010.  Qosimova got suspended five-year prison term.  Ms. Matlouba Azimmurodova also received suspended five-year prison term, while her husband, Sultonmurod Azimmurodov, will pay a fine in an amount of 500 accounting indicators (an accounting indicator for this year is set at 35.00 somoni).”
