To pay off its debts Kulob farm compelled to offer its property for sale

KULOB, December 23, 2008, Asia-Plus  — To pay off its debts to Agroinvestbonk the farming unit “Khatlon” in the Kulob district has been compelled to offer a number of its building and a garden of 08 hectare for sale.

Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, the farming unit head Aziz Rajabov said that there was no other way out of the situation.

The farming unit received 1 million somoni in loan from Agroinvestbonk for the cotton sowing and harvesting campaign.  “We now have 335 tons of our cotton fiber and some 400 tons of cotton seeds at the cotton-ginning factory Pakhtai Kulob,” said Rajabov.  “However, because of sharp decrease in cotton rates at exchanges to realize them is more trouble than it is worth.”

“We have failed to repay 50 percent of the loan – 500,000 somoni  – by December 1, Rajabov said.
