DUSHANBE, December 23, 2008, Asia-Plus — A confidence index survey conducted by the Belarus-Russian Intellectual Club (BRIC) in November has ranked Tajikistan 17th among 22 countries in terms of Russian community confidence in country.
According to the survey, Russians now trust most in South Ossetia that was ranked 1st with 85 points. South Ossetia is followed by Belarus (84 points) and Abkhazia (80 points).
India with 55 points is ranked 4th.
Kazakhstan (49 points) was ranked 7th, and Kyrgyzstan (40 points) 11th. Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan with 35 points each were ranked 13th –16th.
Among the Central Asian states, Russian trust less in Tajikistan, which with 34 points was ranked 17th.
Georgia with 13 points is in the bottom of the table – it was ranked 22nd.
In the meantime, in terms of Russian elite’s confidence index, Tajikistan with 42 points shares with the United States 13th -14th place.
In terms of the index of confidence of country’s elite or community in the Russian elite, Tajikistan with 47 points is ranked 8th among 22 countries.
