DUSHANBE, September 29, 2011, Asia-Plus — An international conference on security and stability in Central Asia after withdrawal of ISAF (International Security Assistance Force) from Afghanistan in 2014 is being held in Dushanbe today.

The conference is organized by the Friedrich Ebert Foundation (Germany) in cooperation with Center for Strategic Studies under the President of Tajikistan, the Institute of Philosophy and Law of the Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan and Asia-Plus Media Group.

The conference is being held in two sections: Afghanistan and Central Asia – The View from Europe; and Afghanistan and Central Asia – The View from Central Asia.

Mr. Jorg Dietrich Nakmayer (phonetically spelled), an expert on security issues from Berlin, Mr. Behrouz Abdulwand, coordinator, Research Center for Caspian Region Studies, Free University of Berlin, Mr. Sultan Akimbekov, editor of the CentralAsia journal from Almaty, Mr. Abdulvohid Shamolov, director of the Institute of Philosophy and Law of the Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, Mr. Askar Noursha, project manager, Center for Social and Humanities Studies Aspect-M from Almaty, Mr. Murat Suyunbayev from Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University in Bishkek and Mr. Suhrob Sharipov, director of the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of Tajikistan are reading papers at the conference.
