DUSHANBE, October 19, 2011, Asia-Plus — The first international TV festival, TEFI Commonwealth, is taking place in Kiev, Ukraine on October 19-20 on the threshold of the 6th Forum of the CIS Creative and Scientific Intelligentsia that will kick off in the Ukrainian capital on October 20.

The festival is organized by the Fund “Academy of Russian Television” and the CIS Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation (IFHC) with support of Russia’s Federal Agency on Press and Mass Communications.  The main theme for the festival is “National Cultural Traditions and Dynamic of Modern Cultural Environment in Programs of CIS Nations’ TV Companies.”

TV companies from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan are participating in the festival.

In the meantime, KAZINFORM reports the 6th Forum of Creative and Scientific Intelligentsia of the CIS Member Nations is organized with the support of the Intergovernmental Foundation for Educational, Scientific and Cultural Cooperation. The theme is Historical and Cultural Heritage of the CIS.

Participants of the forum will discuss the topics: “Taras Shevchenko: Creativity and Intercultural Dialogue” and “Mikhail Lomonosov: The Scientific and Creative Heritage.”  Various discussions, round tables are also to be held on the sidelines of the forum.
