DUSHANBE, October 19, 2011, Asia-Plus — Issue related to medical insurance of Tajik labor migrants and rendering emergency medical aid to them were the focus of a meeting of Asror Odinayev, head of the representative office of Tajikistan’s Migration Service in Russia with Davron Muhammadiyev, head of the IFRC Regional Office for Russia that took place in Moscow yesterday.

According to Tajik Migration Service’s office in Moscow, Mr. Muhammadiyev noted that regional offices of Russia’s Red Cross Society were ready to provide medical and social support to the vulnerable migrant workers.

Muhammadiyev reportedly added that the IFRC Regional Office for Russia would provide Tajik Migration Service’s office in Moscow with methodological and information manuals and instructions in the Tajik language for distribution among labor migrants.

In the course of the talks, Odinayev and Muhammadiyev also discussed interaction with public associations of the Tajik Diaspora in Russia for training labor migrants, the source said.
