DUSHANBE, December 18, 2008, Asia-Plus — The first inter-bank conference to discuss banking information security issues is expected to take place in Ufa, Russia’s Boshkortostan republic from February 10-14 2009, Itsec.ru reported, referring to the ABISS Community Council Secretary Pavel Geniyevsky.
The conference will bring together central banks officials of Russia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Ukraine and regulators to consider issues related to introduction of the Bank of Russia’s standards, practical interaction between information security managers, risk-managers and internal service specialists, as well as protection of personal data being processed by any bank, Geniyevsky was quoted as saying.
In the meantime, an official website of the event (ib-bank.ru) reported that conference schedule stipulates holding of a general plenary session and roundtable meetings.
The conference participants will discuss ways to solve present problems, strategy of development of the market of products, solutions and services in the banking information security, the results of analytical surveys of activities of lending organizations on ensuring security of the banking information and hold a number of business meetings.
