DUSHANBE, December 9, 2011, Asia-Plus – Tajikistan’s Migration Service head Safiallo Devonayev has met in Moscow with law enforcement authorities of Moscow and the Moscow oblast to discuss cooperation issues.
According to Tajik Migration Service’s office in Russia, Devonayev’s meeting with Moscow chief prosecutor Sergey Kudeneyev that took place on December 8 focused on problems connected with fulfillment of labor agreement and contracts and nonpayment of wages to migrant workers.
Mr. Kudeneyev noted that the Moscow Prosecutor’s Office was working in that direction and it would respond to all registered cases of violation of rights of Tajik labor migrants, the source said.
At the same time, Moscow chief prosecutor voiced the desire that migrant workers would have enough vocational level as well as necessary level of knowledge of the Russian language and Russia’s legal requirements. According to him, they also must be aware of social, economic and cultural realties of Russia so that the process of adaptation would pass more harmoniously and without conflicts.
Devonayev, for his part, informed Kudeneyev of measures taken by the Tajik authorities to resolve these issues and prevent illegal migration.
The sides reportedly agreed that joint efforts were needed in that direction and to detect structures providing appropriate illegal services.
Devonayev also met with senior representatives from the Interior Ministry’s office for the Moscow oblast yesterday. Issues related to legal situation of Tajik migrant workers in Russia were the focus of the meeting, the source added.
