Tajikistan’s external trade turnover for Jan-Nov 2011 estimated at more than US$4 bln

DUSHANBE, December 15, 2010, Asia-Plus  — Over the first eleven months of this year, the external trade turnover of Tajikistan, including electrical power and natural gas, has exceeded 4 billion U.S. dollars, which was 118.3 percent of the January-November 2010 level or 635 million U.S. dollars more, according to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.

The trade balance was negative and amounted to more than 1.7 million US dollars.

Exports of goods in January-November 2011 have amounted to 1.153 billion US dollars, which is 8.8 percent, or 93 million U.S. dollars, more than in the same period last year.

Imports of goods into the country over the report period have amounted to 2.88 billion U.S. dollars, which is 22.6 percent, or 531 million dollars, more than in January-November 2010.

In January-November 2010, Tajikistan had trade relations with 101 countries of the world, including 10 CIS nations.

Compared to January-June 2010, Tajikistan’s cotton fiber exports have increased by 1.1 percent, export of mineral commodities has increased 3.1 times and export of precious metals has increased 2.4 times over the report period.
