DUSHANBE, January 16, 2012, Asia-Plus  — In 2011, Tajikistan produced a total of some 7.6 billion somoni (equivalent to some 1.6 billion U.S. dollars) worth of industrial goods, according to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.

Compared to 2010 the index of the volume of production of industrial goods amounted to 105.9 percent.

Processing industry accounted for 67.2 percent of the overall volume of industrial goods produced last year, enterprises producing and distributing electric power, natural gas and water accounted for 20 percent and mining industry accounted for 12.8 percent.

Of the 83 basic types of industrial products the output of 56 items (67.5 percent) increased, and the output of 24 items (28.9 percent) decreased.  Three basic types of industrial products (3.6 percent) were not manufactured.
