DUSHANBE, December 9, 2008, Asia-Plus — Tajik cultural and artistic programs have opened in Tehran today on sidelines of Iran-Tajikistan Friendship Week that is being held in the Iranian capital on December 9-12, Abdughaffor Abdujabborov, an official with the Ministry of Culture (MoC), said in an interview with Asia-Plus.
According to him, exchange of culture, traditions and customs between the Tajikistan and Iran and making Iranians aware of Tajik culture are among the objectives of the event that is organized on an initiative by the Tajik Embassy in Tehran and Iranian cultural institutions.
In all, 21 known Tajik artists are participating in the Iran-Tajikistan Friendship Week, the MoC official said, noting that the Week’s program includes performance of Tajik music as well as exhibits of books, photographs and handicrafts.
Meanwhile, a booklet on Iran and Tajikistan”s culture, traditions and customs is also expected to be released.
