The Lower Chamber of the Tajik Parliament (Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli) has approved amendments to the Law on the 2012 State Budget.

According to the newly approved amendments, Huaxin Gayur Cement Ltd.Co. is exempted from tax and customs fees for import of building materials, machinery, equipment and other materials required for construction of a cement producing factory in Javan region of Khatlon province.

While presenting the bill on Amendments to the Law on the 2012 State Budget Tajik Minister of Finance Safarali Najmiddinov said that the budget will loose 60mln Somoni in case if the amendments are approved. “However, the budget will get additional 135mln Somoni every year from the future factory,” he said.

Najmiddinov stressed that the future factory’s capacity is 1mln tons of cement per year.

He said the construction has already began and is expected to be over after 16 months in Autumn next year.

He added that the construction will cost a total of $100mln, $77mln of which will be spent for building materials, machinery and equipment.

Deputy Muhiddin Kabiri asked Finance Minister to provide parliamentarians with related information about exemption of such companies from taxes and customs duties in advance.
