Medical commission has found Jurabek Ohonov, a 53-year-old manager of Movarounnahr company, healthy following a course of medical treatment and submitted related its decision to the Supreme Court of Tajikistan.

Therefore, Ohonov will face trial on Thursday, April 26.

Ohonov’s defense attorney Shuhrat Kudratov, however, doubts the conclusion of medical commission claiming that Ohonov is still mentally unhealthy person.

“The last time I met my client on April 25 and I could not see any progress in his health condition. According to the criminal and procedural legislation, mentally unhealthy persons can not face trials,” he said.

The lawyer is planning to appeal against the commission’s decision and wants his client to be mentally healthy again before the trial continues.

“I’m sure the judge will doubt the commission’s decision tomorrow when he see Ohonov’s health condition and will allow him to continue his medical treatment,” Kudratov said.
