A dismembered, burned body was discovered on the banks of the Elok River in the village of Sarichashma, Faizobod district, Hisor Valley (central Tajikistan). Through operational search activities, the identity of the deceased was established — it is 43-year-old Nasim Rajabmatov, a resident of the Farkhor district of the Khatlon province, who had been reported missing since December 31, 2025, the Interior Ministry’s official website reported.

A suspect in the murder with extreme cruelty has been detained — Rajabmatov’s acquaintance, a 33-year-old resident of Roghun, Nourandesh Sharifzoda.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs, citing Sharifzoda’s testimony, reports that on December 31, 2025, the victim and the suspect were in a state of alcohol intoxication and a conflict arose between them, as a result of which Rajabmatov was killed (the exact manner is not disclosed).

How the authorities discovered the body and traced it back to Sharifzoda is not mentioned in the report, only that criminal proceedings have been instituted under Article 104 of the country’s Criminal Code — murder.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs also reports that the suspect, Nourandesh Sharifzoda, had previously been sentenced to 15 years in prison for theft and hooliganism.
