DUSHANBE, June 28, 2012, Asia-Plus – Three persons were killed on June 27 as a car fell into the river in the northern Sughd province.

An official source at the Committee for Emergency Situations (CES) says the accident took place in the afternoon in the Fon Daryo jamoat.

“Driver appeared to have lost control of his NIVA (Russian jeep) and it fell into the river,” said the source.  “The driver and two his passengers drowned in the river.”

Meanwhile, torrential rain on June 26 caused a mud flow in the Chilgazi jamoat of the Isfara district, Sughd province that partially damaged 22 residential buildings.  A special commission is currently working in the mud flow site to assess actual damage caused by the disaster to the village, the source said.
