DUSHANBE, July 9, 2012, Asia-Plus  — Visit of senior representatives from Russia’s Sviaz-Bank to Tajikistan has completed.

During their stay in Tajikistan, Andrey Grigorovich, an official with Sviaz-Bank, and Andrey Laikov, head of the money transfer system BLIZKO, which belongs to Sviaz-Bank, in particular, met here with Safiallo Devonayev, head of the Migration Service under the Government of Tajikistan.  Issues related to Tajik labor migrants’ remittances from Russia to Tajikistan were a major topic of the meeting.

Money transfers BLIZKO is a system of urgent money transfers for individuals without account opening, created on the basis of Interregional commercial Bank of connection and information development.

The sides reportedly intend to cooperate in regulating remittances of Tajik labor migrants from Russia.  They also discussed the possibility of participation of the Russian bank in reconstruction of the training Center for Migrants in Tajikistan.  The sides also considered a number of issues being of mutual interest.

Sviaz-Bank, which is the Russian commercial interregional bank, is currently working on preparing a common money transfer map that could be used by Tajik labor migrants.  The Bank is also considering opportunities to open its representative office in Tajikistan.

Founded in 1991, Sviaz-Bank, with headquarters in Moscow, has 51 branches and 133 backup offices and mini-branches; 99 of them operating from post offices.  It is an all-purpose lending and financial institution maintaining its presence in 52 of 83 federal subjects of the Russian Federation.  Sviaz-Bank’s key business areas are providing banking services to corporate entities and individuals, managing debt financing, and conducting international business such as trading in international financial markets, commercial and structural funding, and borrowing from international lenders.
