DUSHANBE, July 10, 2012, Asia-Plus — Fifteen new schools are expected to be put in commission in the southern Khatlon province by the new academic year.
These schools have been built by the National Social Investment Fund of Tajikistan (NSIFT) under financial support of German donors, the NSIFT director general Saidahmad Mirzoyev told reporters in Dushanbe on July 10.
According to him, the mentioned schools have been built in the framework of the second phase of the program, Community Funds for the Promotion of Basic Education Development and Rehabilitation of Community Infrastructure.
“The second phase of the program includes construction of 41 new schools in twenty districts of Khatlon province,” the NSIFT head said.
The budget for implementation of the second phase of the program reportedly amounts to 15.9 million U.S. dollars, including US$15.4 million provided by the Government of the Federal Republic of German, US$320,000 provided by the government and US$190,000 provided by the communities.
