DUSHANBE, September 17, 2012, Asia-Plus  — Minister of Economic Development and Trade Sharif Rahimzoda today met here with France’s Ambassador to Tajikistan, Mr. Didier Leroy.

In the course of the talks, the sides discussed state and prospects of further expansion of economic cooperation between Tajikistan and France, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade (MoEDT)’s press center said.

French diplomat reportedly expressed satisfaction with a favorable investment climate in Tajikistan.

Ambassador Leroy promised that he, as chief of the French diplomatic mission in Tajikistan, will use all opportunities to promote attraction of investments from French large companies for development of Tajikistan’s economy, the source said.

According to the data from the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan, trade between Tajikistan and France in January-August 2012 has valued at little more than 2.2 million U.S. dollars.
