DUSHANBE, August 23, 2012, Asia-Plus — Tajik-Turkmen negotiations at the highest level took place in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan on August 23.
According to the Tajik president’s official website, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon and his Turkmen counterpart Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov discussed issues related to further expansion of bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation between their countries.
Rahmon and Berdimuhamedov also expressed confidence that Rahmon’s visit to Ashgabat would give a new impulse to development of friendly relations between Tajikistan and Turkmenistan. Both sides reportedly vowed to boost bilateral trade.
Tajik-Turkmen negotiations in the enlarged format that will take place in the Turkmen capital today are expected to result in signing of a number of cooperation documents, the source added.
