DUSHANBE, September 1, 2012, Asia-Plus  — Tajik President Emomali Rahmon pays a state visit to India from September 1-4.

A source at the Indian Embassy in Dushanbe says President Rahmon’s discussions with high-ranking Indian state officials will result in signing of a number of cooperation agreements.

Meanwhile, the Delhi-based news agency, Asian News International (ANI), reports the Ceremonial Changing of Guards at Rashtrapati Bhavan will not be held on September 1 due to a full dress rehearsal in connection with the state visit of Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon.

Referring to the office of the press secretary to the President of India, ANI says President Rahmon will pay a State Visit to India from 1 to 4 September at the invitation of the President of India.

On September 3, the Tajikistan President will meet President Pranab Mukherjee and Vice President Hamid Ansari, and hold discussions on bilateral cooperation with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

During the visit, the Leader of Opposition Sushma Swaraj and the External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna will also call on the President of Tajikistan.

On the same day, President Emomali Rahmon will address a business meeting jointly organized by ASSOCHAM, CII and FICCI.
