DUSHANBE, October 2, 2012, Asia-Plus  — The Week of Russian Language and Literature has been held in Dushanbe.

Organized by the Faculty of Professional Development Service for Russian Language Teachers at the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia jointly with The Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States, Compatriots Living Abroad and International Humanitarian Cooperation (Rossotrudnichestvo) within Russia’s federal target program, Russian Language (2011-2015), the event was dedicated to discussion of methods of teaching the Russian language as foreign language under the modern conditions, ways of raising motivation to study the Russian language in Tajikistan as an important factor of interethnic communication and foundation for development of integration processes within the CIS area.

Exhibitions of multimedia publications, presentations and master-classes on innovative methods of teaching the Russian language and literature have been held during the Week.   

We will recall that Russia has sent 200 Russian-language teachers to Tajikistan”s northern province of Sughd.  The Russian teachers have arrived in Sughd to teach local children, in accordance with a bilateral agreement signed by the two countries” education ministries earlier.  Local authorities have provided the teachers with accommodation.
