DUSHANBE, September 5, 2012, Asia-Plus — A Tajik delegation, led by the Principal Deputy Minister of Interior, Nourullo Oripov, has left for Baku, Azerbaijan to attend the next meeting of the Council of Interior Ministers of the CIS nations that is expected to take place in the Azeri capital from September 6-8.
An official source at the Ministry of Interior (MoI) says the forthcoming CIS interior ministers’ meeting will discuss issues related to improvement and coordination of further cooperation between the CIS law enforcement bodies.
The meeting will also focus on fight against crimes and cooperation in ensuring public security.
The progress of implementation of interstate crime prevention programs will also be among major topics of the meeting.
According to the CIS Executive Committee, a special attention will be paid to development of a draft program of joint crime prevention measures designed for 2014-2018, a draft program of cooperation in fighting trafficking in narcotics, psychotropic substances and their precursors and countering drug abuse designed for 2014-2018, a draft concept of expansion of cooperation between the CIS interior ministries, and a draft document determining the procedure of interstate search for persons.
