DUSHANBE, January 9, Asia-Plus  — The Tajik president has reprimanded a deputy prime minister and minister of labor and social security for failing to organize adequate control of structures being under their jurisdiction, presidential press service reported. 

On Monday January 9, Tajik President EmomalI Rahmonov convened an extraordinary meeting on the fire in the “Chorbogh” orphanage in Dushanbe that killed thirteen children.  Heads of relevant ministries and organizations, including energy ministry, ministry of labor and social security, emergencies ministry, firefighting service and the law enforcement agencies attended the meeting to discuss the cause of the tragic incident.   

President Rahmonov sharply criticized state structures, labor and social security ministry for failing to properly organize control over organizations being under their jurisdiction. 

Deputy Prime Minister Khairnisso Mavlonova, Minister of Labor and Social Security Zokir Vazirov and the head of the Labor and Social Security Department within the President’s Executive Office Bobokhon Mahmadov were reprimanded.  

Rahmonov demanded at the meeting that Tajik Prosecutor’s Office should investigate the circumstance of the tragedy within ten-day period and punish those being guilty.  He ordered that the results of the investigation should be reported to him personally, according to presidential press service.   

By president’s order the Ministry of Labor and Social Security should organize the victims’ funeral.

Rahmonov telling the meeting noted that a single center for disable children meeting all international standards would be built in Tajikistan in near future, according to presidential press service.  Deputy Prime Minister Asadullo Ghulomov is to take adequate measures to provide workout of the center’s design in the shortest possible time and submit it to the government.
