DUSHANBE, February 23, Asia-Plus – An official opening of the Sound Recording Studio of Talking Books for Blind Children was held in Dushanbe on February 22.

Analysis and Partnership Specialist of the National Social Investment Fund of Tajikistan (NSIFT), Abulqosim Kotibov, has told Asia-Plus that NSIFT funded this project costing more than 76,000 Somonis (equivalent to some US$32,000).  These funds were spent for purchasing necessary equipment and CDs and audiocassettes with educational materials, according to him.

 “This studio will allow integrating disabled children into a normal education process as well as giving them an opportunity to familiarize themselves with various literary works,” the NSIFT director Sherali Zardov remarked at the studio-opening ceremony. 

The first audio file recorded t this studio was demonstrated at the presentation ceremony.
