DUSHANBE, April 26, Asia-Plus – A total capital of Tajikistan’s savings bank (Amonatbonk) has doubled over a year and as of April 1 2006 the bank’s total capital has amounted to 18.3 million Somonis (equivalent US$5.7 million), Ms. Gulnora Hasanova, announced at a briefing in Dushanbe on April 26.

the total capital of “Amonatbonk” had amounted to 9.3 million Somonis.  

Ms. Hasanova notes that one of the main sources of increase in the bank’s capital is its clear profit “that has exceeded 1 million Somonis over the first three months of this year.”  “It is 1.5 time more compared to January-March 2005,” Gulnora Hasanova said.  

“To date, more than 5,000 enterprises and organizations of various forms of property and 114,000 physical entities have been clients of our bank,” the Amonatbonk deputy head noted.    

“Deposits of the population alone have increased by 2.4 million Somonis over the first quarter of the year,” said Ms. Hasanova, “While an overall volume of attracted funds has increased by 21 million Somonis over the same three-month period.”
